DTM-Digital Terrain Modelling

This program is designed to create models of the seabed, from which to calculate volumes, sections, and contours, compare with other models, and export for use in other programs. The capabilities of the DTM suite include the following:

• Creation of triangular DTM from the edited database.

• Creation of triangular DTM from imported ASCII files.

• Import/export of DTM’s in various formats.

• Creation of 3-D model for displaying in Tower’s navigation program and for export to other applications.

• Merging, replacing, and comparing DTM’s.

• Graphical editing of triangles and depths within DTM.

• Creation of break areas within DTM.

• Creation of theoretical model by polygon design.

• Creation of theoretical model by designing cross-sections along a route.

• Import/export of theoretical models.

• Calculation of volumes by comparing theoretical to actual model.

• Design and calculation of cross-sections through DTM, either individually or en bloc.

• Printing of cross-sections, with overlays from other surveys and from theoretical models.

• Calculation of volumes from cross-sections using Simpson’s Rule.

• Creation and editing of contours.
